Unique among clubs in Lake County, Lindenhurst Health & Fitness Center is proud to offer its members a dedicated Warm Water Therapy Pool adjacent to the main pool. With an average temperature ranging from 90 to 94 degrees, the pool is handicap accessible and ideal for those suffering from joint pain, arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Our therapy pool hosts weekly arthritis and fibromyalgia group exercise classes, with classes instructed by Arthritis Foundation-certified instructors. As part of our commitment to providing medical fitness programs to our members, we also offer a range of other warm water exercise programs and open availability.

Arthritis & Warm Water Therapy Classes
 

Our Arthritis & Warm Water Therapy classes are held in the Warm Water Therapy Pool. These specialty classes help those suffering from arthritis or fibromyalgia to alleviate health issues, increase joint range of motion, build muscle strength, reduce pain and stiffness and experience a better quality of life.

  • Arthritis — Increase joint range of motion and reduce pain and stiffness. Classes are held in 12-week sessions and are available to Non-members for an additional fee.
  • Arthritis/Fibro Combo — Increase joint range of motion and reduce pain and stiffness, as well as symptoms of fibromyalgia. Classes are held in 12-week sessions and are available to Non-members for an additional fee.
  • Aqua Flow — Experience the unique form of aquatic bodywork based on principles of watsu, tai chi, Pilates and yoga. Benefits include flexibility, spinal alignment, balance and decrease of stiffness and pain.
  • Warm Water Tone & Stretch — Muscular endurance and strength exercises performed using various pieces of aquatic resistance equipment.

Open Availability
 

When classes are not taking place, the Warm Water Therapy Pool is open for water exercise at your own leisure.

 

Water Workout Tips

  • Water shoes are recommended for aqua class.
  • Don’t forget your water bottle! It is very important to stay hydrated during your workout.
  • Please shower before entering the pool.
  • We require promptness for all classes.
